BASE23 works with the elements of the surroundings that have been marked by the years and uses the site as a canvas for a dialogue between art and architecture, past and present, decay and revival. Weathered, industrial materials are abstracted and transformed into "painted sculptures" - works that are modelled on the architectural relics in their form and structure, but elevate them to a new, contemporary level. The artist utilises stylistic elements from Suprematism, Brutalism and Cubism to transform and rethink the architectural forms of the surroundings.
The exhibition "Metamorphosis" not only questions the concept of the "Broken Windows Theory", but reverses it: the abandoned place, where the signs of the times are obvious, is not perceived as run-down and problematic, but as rich in aesthetic, cultural and historical values that are rediscovered and reaffirmed through art. Before the hall is put back into operation and put to a new use, a moment of creative transformation is created here, in which the traces of the past are given new meaning and a new life cycle through art.

BASE23 arbeitet mit den durch die Jahre gezeichneten Elementen der Umgebung und nutzt den Ort als eine Leinwand für den Dialog zwischen Kunst und Architektur, Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, Verfall und Wiederbelebung. Verwitterte, industrielle Materialien werden abstrahiert und in „gemalte Skulpturen“ überführt – Werke, die in ihrer Form und Struktur den architektonischen Relikten nachempfunden sind, sie jedoch auf ein neues, zeitgenössisches Niveau heben. Der Künstler nutzt dabei stilprägende Elemente aus dem Suprematismus, dem Brutalismus und dem Kubismus, um die architektonischen Formen der Umgebung zu transformieren und neu zu denken.
Mit der Ausstellung „Metamorphose“ wird das Konzept der „Broken Windows Theorie“ nicht nur hinterfragt, sondern umgekehrt: Der verlassene Ort, in dem die Zeichen der Zeit offensichtlich sind, wird nicht als heruntergekommen und problematisch wahrgenommen, sondern als reich an ästhetischen, kulturellen und historischen Werten, die durch die Kunst neu entdeckt und bekräftigt werden. Bevor die Halle wieder in Betrieb genommen und einer neuen Nutzung zugeführt wird, entsteht hier ein Moment der kreativen Transformation, in dem die Spuren der Vergangenheit durch die Kunst eine neue Bedeutung und einen neuen Lebenszyklus erhalten.
