In his work ‚Out of the Void‘, the artist Base23 focuses on the precise reproduction of an original mural that was created in an anonymous, abandoned, and hard-to-reach location in Berlin. By transforming this mural into a constructed, three-dimensional relief, the artist opens up a novel spatial experience that allows the viewer to encounter his original work in a fresh way within the gallery space.
The presentation of the original sketch, along with a photograph of the original mural, without an explicit reference to the time of its creation, raises essential questions: Which work came first, and where is the true place of origin? This uncertainty leads to a blurred relationship between time and space and initiates a dialogue that brings both the past and the present into focus. The artist invites us to redefine the boundaries between art and space and to explore the interactions between the work and its environment.

In seiner Arbeit "Out of the Void" widmet sich der Künstler Base23 der präzisen Reproduktion eines ursprünglichen Wandbildes, das an einem anonymen, verlassenen und schwer zugänglichen Ort in Berlin entstanden ist. Durch die Transformation dieses Wandbildes in ein konstruiertes, dreidimensionales Relief eröffnet der Künstler eine neuartige räumliche Erfahrung, die es dem Betrachter ermöglicht, seine ursprüngliche Arbeit in frischer Weise in der Galerie zu erleben.
Die Präsentation der Originalskizze sowie eines Fotos des ursprünglichen Wandbildes, ohne expliziten Verweis auf den Entstehungszeitraum, wirft essentielle Fragen auf: Welche Arbeit entstand zuerst, und wo liegt der wahre Ursprungsort? Diese Ungewissheit führt zu einer verschwommenen Beziehung zwischen Zeit und Raum und initiiert einen Dialog, der sowohl die Vergangenheit als auch die Gegenwart in den Fokus rückt. Der Künstler lädt uns ein, die Grenzen zwischen Kunst und Raum neu zu definieren und die Interaktionen zwischen dem Werk und seinem Umfeld zu erkunden.
